Professional Staff

Emily Finn, Skating DirectorHas 18 years coaching experience, is a full member of PSA.  Holds PSA ratings in Moves in the Field and Freestyle.  Coaches all levels of skaters.  Has coached skaters in Non-qualifying and Qualifying competitions.  Coached skaters in Basic Skills Competition, Open Competitions, State Games, State Games of America, National Showcase and Regional's.

 

Carol Rosenblith - Began skating as an adult. Trained and competed (ISI) for the Skating Club of Natick. Further training in moves-in-the-field, freestyle and ice dancing at Iorio Ice Club, Walpole, MA and at Babson Skating Center, Wellesley, MA with Robert Rafuse. USFSA Basic Skills instructor since Spring, 2003. Group instructor since November 2003 in greater metropolitan Boston with the Bay State Skating School and since January 2005 with the Weston Skating Club Basic Skills Program directed by Tom McGinnis. Carol resides with her husband in Newton, MA and at their second home in Madison, NH.  She has recently attained a PSA rating in group instruction. 

 

Ida Helmers - Began her skating career as a roller skater in South Africa where she was a several time National Champion in freestyle and pairs roller skating.  She than transitioned to ice skating and turned professional skating two years in Deutsches Eis Theatre and touring 4 years throughout Europe in Holiday On Ice.  Then retired from touring and shows and began coaching at the Princeton Skating Club in Princeton NJ which she did for several years prior to stopping to raise her family.  With her 3 daughters now grown, she has recently returned to coaching here at the MWV Skating Club.

 

Mike Helmers – Began his skating career at age 6 with the Philadelphia Skating Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Mike was a singles and pair skater early in his career but transitioned to singles competition by age 10. Mike was subsequently coached by Albert Edmonds from the Wissahickon Skating Club in Philadelphia. Mike competed in Regional's, Sectionals, and US Nationals winning several titles before his skating career was interrupted by his Chemical engineering ambitions. In college, Mike played Ice Hockey for RPI while he continued to figure skate.  Now that Mike resides in Mount Washington Valley, he has returned to skating and skating instruction which he loves.

Molly Perry - Began skating at Bowdoin College at the age of 5 and continued training and skating competitively through high school.  After graduating started touring and performing in ice shows both in the US and Europe including Rosstyn Ice Shows, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, Holiday on Ice, Willy Bietek Productions and many others for eight years.  She has now moved back to Maine where she currently enjoys coaching.

 

Stacy McAllister Stacy Began her skating career at the Ham Arena when it opened in 1999 and has been an MWV Skating Club Member since the club's inception in 2001.  She also maintains membership with the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club in Falmouth, Maine.   To date she has passed her USFSA Gold Medalist at Moves-in-the-Field, Intermediate Freeskate, and the First Test of the Pre-Silver Dance Level, and is a member of the Professional Skater's Association.  Stacy is attending Syracuse University where she is a member of the Syracuse Synchronized Skating Team the "Orange Experience".  She is a Health & Exercise Science Major and plans to become a Physical Therapist.

 

Danielle LarocheTrained at the Kennebacasis Valley FSC in New Brunswick, SC of Boston, SC of Maine and Colonial FSC.  Competed at New England Regional's (Novice Freestyle) and Eastern Sectionals (Novice Dance).  She has passed her Senior Level MIF and Ice Dance as well as her Junior level Freestyle tests. Coached at the SC of Maine.  Danielle currently divides her time between her home in North Conway and Montreal.    
 
Emily BissonFrom the SC of Amherst.  Trained at Amherst College, University of MA - Amherst and International Skating Center of CT.  Competed with, and Senior member of Nationally ranked Figuretts Senior Precision Synchronized Team.  Former coach and Co-Director of Bates College Skate School.
