REGISTER NOW FOR MWV SKATING LESSONS
The Mount Washington Valley Skating Club is currently
accepting registration for its Spring
2010 Skating session. The
Spring Skating Session consists of group
classes in figure skating as well as learn to skate for
hockey. Lessons follow the USFSA curriculum with
differing approaches for toddlers, children and adults.
Children as young as 3 to 5 years old are taught the
fundamentals of balancing and moving on skates in
Snowplow Sam classes. Older children who either
have not skated before or desire to improve their skills
are enrolled in the club's Basic Skills Program.
The skills learned in both Snowplow Sam and Basic Skills
lay excellent groundwork whether the goal is to continue
on to learn the footwork, jumps and spins of figure
skating or to gain the speed and power skating skills
needed to successfully participate in one of the local
hockey programs. Adult skaters have their own
curriculum emphasizing balance, coordination and
fitness. Lessons are packaged in six
to eight
week sessions on Sundays,Tuesdays and
Thursdays. All lessons are taught by club Coaches and
Junior Coaches following the USFSA curriculum
and are held at the state of the art Ham Arena in
Conway, NH.
