The Mount Washington Valley Skating Club is your resource in the White Mountains of Maine and New Hampshire for learning how to skate.
We teach children and adults of all abilities to skate for fun, competition and a lifetime of experiences within the skating community.
We welcome you to our beautiful home rink, the Ham Ice Arena where we offer Learn to Skate group lessons formatted by Learn to Skate USA. We instruct skaters in learn to skate for hockey and figure skating.
Our skaters have taken what they have learned here onto local, regional, national and collegiate levels of skating competition.
Our Learn to Skate USA group lessons include a 25 minute group lesson and 25 minutes of practice time. This practice ice may come prior to your lesson time, or after your lesson. Lesson times may change weekly so plan to be on time and ready to skate.

Please note: Skaters must be at least 5 years old to participate in Learn to Skate.
Step 1
Every Skater needs to have the MWVSC Annual Program Fee.
This annual program fee is required for anyone participating in GROUP Learn to Skate program. This fee insures skaters and provides program books, materials, badges and more to those registered in the program
Step 2
OPTIONAL. Choose your USFS Membership type. Please note there are discounts for first time members and discounts for families with multiple skaters. Be sure to assign the chosen package to your proper skater when prompted. Your skater will need to be a member if they want to compete.
Becoming a member is a decision that opens a variety of doors as you choose how to pursue your personal skating journey. Whether you're chasing an international career with Team USA or going for the gold at local nonqualifying or Compete USA competitions, members have access to the tools, resources and programming necessary to develop their on-ice career in a way that makes sense for them.
This discount is available to any first time full club members.
This membership is for the first member in a family to register for a full club membership.
This membership is available for any related persons residing at the same address as a first family member.
4-year membership available to club members attending college.

Ala’ Carte: You can select and build your skate lessons experience to best suit your schedule. Choose your GROUP LESSON, GROUP LESSONS + COMPETITION & TEST DEVELOPMENT and/or PRACTICE ICE OR bundle all three together!

5:25-5:45 p.m. (except on January 26, 2025, which is 6:20 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.)
20 minutes of additional skills development taking place after Beginner & Hockey Lessons and before Adult & Freestyle Lessons. This Session DOES NOT include Thursday Practice Ice.
Bundle your Beginner & Hockey OR Adult & Freestyle Group Lesson WITH additional 20 minutes of Skills Development PLUS Thursday Practice Ice (all 6 weeks).
